The Atlantic 10 Conference was started in 1975 with basketball as the only sponsored sport, and by 1976 the first season of play started. Originally founded with eight member schools, the conference now has 14 members. Currently, three of the original eight schools are still members of the A-10. The sports supported by the Atlantic 10 are baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, rowing, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field, and volleyball.
