Northwest College is a public college located in Powell, Wyoming, approximately 70 miles from Yellowstone National Park, with an enrollment of approximately 1,400 undergraduate students. The acceptance rate is 100%, and students can choose from 70 different programs of study, ranging from certificate and associate degrees to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Professional Studies. Popular majors include Health Science, General Studies, Agriculture, Business, and Nursing. Northwest College also has articulation agreements with more than 30 colleges and universities to aid students in the transfer process. A wide range of student services are also offered, including academic, transfer, and career advising, as well as connections to area jobs and internships. Tutoring, counseling, and disability services are available to all NWC students as well, along with international travel and field study opportunities. Northwest College makes bringing it all together a little bit easier too with on-campus housing and dining options, computer labs, and fitness center. Looking for something exciting to do when you’re not in class or studying? World-class recreation opportunities abound here, with hiking, camping, white-water rafting, and skiing just some of the many activities that can be enjoyed within an hour of campus. You don’t even need your own equipment! The NWC Recreation Co-Op has everything you need for a day or an entire weekend of fun. You can also visit one of the area’s many museums and cultural sites. Whether you’re interested in Native American history, the Old West, or nearby dinosaur digs, there’s no shortage of things to keep you busy. And if you want to meet people and make new friends, our student activities office has a calendar filled with exciting events throughout the year, with dozens of other clubs and organizations to choose from too.
