The Coastal Athletic Association (CAA and formerly the Colonial Athletic Association) is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States. It was founded in 1979 and is composed of schools primarily located in the Northeastern United States region. The CAA is a member of the NCAA's Division I, with the majority of its member institutions competing in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) for football and Division I for other sports.
The CAA officially changed names in July 2023 and is now known as the Coastal Athletic Association.
Campbell University joined the CAA as the conference's newest member in July 2023.
Stony Brook University joined the CAA in 2022.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington joined the CAA in 1984.
Towson University joined the CAA originally in 1979 until 1981. Towson rejoined in 2001.
North Carolina A&T State University joined the CAA in 2022 and 2023 for football.
University of Delaware joined the Colonial Athletic Association in 2001.
