    Colleges for a 18 ACT

    Students with a composite ACT score of 18 have a national rank of 41. If you got an ACT score of 18, you did better than 41 percent of all students who took the exam. That means 59 percent of test-takers scored higher than 18.

    National rank is the number of students who scored higher or lower than a certain ACT score.

    A National Rank of 41 means that means 59 percent of test-takers scored higher than 18.

    An 18 is a lower than the average ACT score, which is around 20.

    Some colleges will accept students who score between 18 and 24 on the ACT. More selective colleges usually look for an ACT range of 25-29. That hardest colleges to get into like to see ACT scores of 27 or higher, and some top colleges prefer to see a score over 32.

    Some moderately selective schools will consider students with an 18 on the ACT, but if you scored 18 on or lower you may want to retake the test. A higher score will help be a competitive applicant at more colleges.
